Residency: RADAR Loughborough x Charnwood Forest Geopark Visiting Artist

Thank you to Loughborough University Arts and Charnwood Forest Geopark for inviting me to be a Visiting Artist at the Geopark. I had the pleasure of hanging out with some of the oldest rocks in England estimated in the region of 600 million years old. I generated three moving image gestures, or ‘rough cuts’ contemplating the movement inherent in the ongoing shaping of this site and the intimate contact invoked between these rock bodies and my own. These were exhibited at an artists day in January but for those who were unable to see the films, next to the ‘interpretation’ boards in Morley Quarry I have placed some ‘invitation’ boards offering prompts to reflect on these ancient bodies. These will be exhibited for the forseeable.
